The sculpture in this southern entrance shows Christ as the ruler of his church in heaven and on earth on the [G 31 / trumeau] of the central bay. He is surrounded by the 12 apostles who are seen crushing their enemies (mainly the Roman Emperors) with their feet. The martyrs who died for Christ stand to his right in the left bay. On the other side in the right bay, the confessors are shown as examples of Christ's teaching.
The central [G 24 / portal] is a celebration of the Last Judgement. Christ shows his bleeding wounds and angels carry the instruments of his Passion. Mary and John the Divine are the intercessories for mankind who are shown in the [G 03 / archivolts] waiting to be judged, climbing out of their tombs. The damned are shown being thrown down into hell by devils and the righteous going to paradise.
